Football and Little Ones!

October 5, 2019 in Motherhood
Hey Y’all! We are well into October. One of the greatest sports months in the calendar year. It’s the only month where we get to experience – football, baseball, and basketball at the same time! Fortunately for us ATLiens, our baseball team, the Atlanta Braves are first in the NLEast and very well could be

6 Tips for Breast Feeding & Producing More Milk

September 5, 2019 in Motherhood
Lately, I’ve been sharing my pump sessions and milk supply on Instagram stories, and I’ve received a lot of DMs from moms with questions. This blog post has one goal: TO HELP MOMS, and what better space than here and now to share what I’ve learned. At the end of the day a fed baby

Every Girl’s Map to Praying God’s word

August 7, 2019 in Books
To be completely honest I didn’t mean to write this prayer map, it just happened. In 2017, I shared my personal journal with social media and received an overwhelming response. It was then I learned that more people needed a “map”; they needed to know that they could cling to the word of God. I

Watkins Farmhouse Reno

August 5, 2019 in Lifestyle
It has been less than a month since we decided to go all in and decorate our home from top to bottom. We’ve been in our new construction for two years – and for two years we came home to white walls and minimal furniture. We I say minimal don’t think clean lines minimal, think

Three Christmas Gifts

December 14, 2018 in Lifestyle, Motherhood
This year we have adopted two new family traditions. One of our newest traditions was adopted from my husbands family – candy cane ornaments. It’s a simple tradition but a great opportunity for the little ones to help decorate the tree. Ellis has thoroughly enjoyed decorating the tree this year. She also loves the idea

Intentional with My Time

November 27, 2018 in Motherhood
“I love my child, but I love Jesus more,” I remember when I first brought Elle home from the hospital I came across a newsletter with this title. Of course, I clicked because the title literally grabbed me. Just entering motherhood and seeing these words would catch anyone’s attention, right?

The Puree & Packaging Process

May 20, 2018 in Motherhood
After about four months of breastfeeding, I started to struggle with my supply. Over time, I began producing less and less milk for Elle, even with her high demand; it was incredibly frustrating. Looking back, I realize there were some things I could have done to increase my supply, and I will share those tips

4 Things to Consider When Picking a Stroller

May 10, 2018 in Motherhood
We’ve been spending a lot more time outside these days. Especially since spring has finally sprung in Georgia. Sunshine equals more chances to cruise Piedmont Park,  stroll through the neighborhood, and visit one of our favorite places in the city the Atlanta Beltline. Of course, we don’t travel without our stroller, The Quinny Buzz.  We get

Traveling with Baby + Checklist

April 24, 2018 in Motherhood
After a recent post on my Instagram, I received quite a few comments on traveling with a baby. I honestly couldn’t believe the number of direct messages and text messages I received asking for tips. Here’s the thing, I am in no way an expert on parenting or traveling with a baby – it is

Review: Keenz Wagon

March 5, 2018 in Motherhood
On yesterday I shared our Keenz Wagon S7 with Instagram and being a bit ambitious I committed to posting a review within a few hours of my Instagram post. Let’s say you should not put a time stamp on completing a blog with a six-month-old. It will not happen.

2018: What’s Your Focus Word

January 10, 2018 in Livelihood
At the end of each year, I spend a little time reflecting on accomplishments and short-comings, successes and areas for improvement. I also conclude the year with either a vision board or a focus word to carry me through the next year. Last year, I chose the phrase to follow through as my accountability (focus) word.

It means nothing to share Jesus with others, and not live a fully devoted life showing the love of Jesus at home with my husband and my kids.
•
God, guide me as wife and mom. Help me to fully show up demonstrating your love in my home. Let joy be the aroma of my home. Let forgiveness come easy. Let your light shine in and through us. Help me to serve selflessly and unto you. In Jesus name, amen.

Masked Motherhood is BACK!!
•
If you’re new here, this is Deacon my #pandemicbaby and the reason behind @maskedmotherhood. I, like so many other moms found out I was pregnant at the beginning of the 2020 and shortly after that a global shutdown.
•
Just like that, resources available to pregnant women were few and far in between, our spouses could no longer attend appointments, and there was so much uncertainty around if and when the pandemic would end. We were in a space of hiding as women.
•
God gave me the vision to create a space where moms could come together for bible study, prayer, and as an added bonus have experts join our weekly calls to talk with us about the new protocols for labor and delivery, our mental health as moms, navigating the postpartum phase, the pros to chiropractic care in pregnancy, and the ups and downs of breastfeeding. It was a beautiful season, and as a constant reminder we focused on 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝟒:𝟏𝟒, “𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬”, we were called to bring forth the next generation in the middle of a global pandemic.

•
I’m looking forward to serving in this space again as bible study leader and welcoming back experts to provide us with all the tips we need to succeed at every stage of motherhood. Every stage, 𝐬𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐌𝐎𝐌𝐒. All of the details are available, www.carmenwatkins.com and everything is absolutely free.

Yesterday as we were getting ready, Britt’s grandma said how amazing it is that we have all remained friends over the years. 18+ years connects the 4 of us, and no time, distance, or relationship has ever come between us.

It’s a beautiful thing.

Love them all so deeply and @itsme_msb Britt Britt what an honor to stand with you as you committed to for richer or for richer (inside joke) 😂😜 with Stephen. I love you to the moon and back and back again.
