4 Things to Consider When Picking a Stroller

May 10, 2018 in Motherhood

We’ve been spending a lot more time outside these days. Especially since spring has finally sprung in Georgia. Sunshine equals more chances to cruise Piedmont Park,  stroll through the neighborhood, and visit one of our favorite places in the city the Atlanta Beltline. Of course, we don’t travel without our stroller, The Quinny Buzz.  We get a lot of questions about our stroller mainly because of its sleek look. I mean what can I say the style of the stroller makes it an instant eye-catcher. While I love rolling in style, there are a few things I want to point out when purchasing a stroller!

Strollers come with a hefty price tag, and if you’re going to do it, I would suggest doing it right. Here are a few things to consider when making the purchase or adding a stroller to your registry —

  1. Storage Space – You want to purchase a stroller that allows you to pack it all in. For things like park dates, you’ll need to store a blanket, diaper bag, perhaps a camera, and snacks. The best way to comfortably navigate anywhere is to have a stroller that provides you with the option to store everything you could need for your day’s journey. Unfortunately, our Quinny has a smaller storage capacity, but previous brands we’ve used provided tons more space.
  2. The Weight of the Stroller – I am an online shopper, big time; but with strollers, you want to do a test before making a purchase. I’d suggest going to your nearest BuyBuyBaby and asses the stroller by collapsing it to see if it’s a natural process, and by lifting the stroller once collapsed to know if it would be easy to maneuver. Moms are often out with baby alone, and you don’t want the hassle of having to lift a bulky stroller or the complications that can come with having a stroller that is difficult to collapse.
  3. Wheels & Stroller Frame – I mentioned before that we currently have the Quinny Buzz, and one thing I love about the QB is the more substantial wheel size that makes it easier to navigate over any terrain. We get out quite a bit with our stroller and whether it’s for a workout class or walking a trail being able to navigate easily is an added plus. Also, the front wheels of the Quinny rotate at 360 degrees, so turning is a complete breeze. Test out the wheels before purchasing and make sure the stroller works well for your day to day activities.
  4. Additional Storage Space – The Quinny is the second brand we have tested out, and one thing I liked more about a previous brand than the Quinny – EXTRA storage. You will need the additional room for things like your keys, cell phone, water bottle, or any other item that you might need within arms reach. If you’re in love with a particular type of stroller and need an easy fix for additional storage, click here. The Skip Hop brand offers an excellent addition to any stroller for less than thirty bucks. What are some of your favorite stroller brands? List them below and share with other moms who are in the market for stylish yet practical wheels 🙂
